Be Like That- Musical Analysis

Khalid & Kane Brown & Swae Lee

There are always those songs that just stick with you and you want to hear them over and over again. That is how you know you have found an amazing song. Finding a song that I want to listen often and I will just play in the car and help change my mood is kind of hard for me but I found that in Be Like That by Kane Brown feat Swae Lee & Khalid. This song was released in June 2020 and I have been listening to it so much every since. On good days or rough days I know that I can put this song on and it will help up lift my mood or help me get through a hard time.

Kane Brown got his start by video taping himself singing covers of songs and posting them online. He can from a rough life and was a working class every day average Joe who just loved so sing. Now he is a huge name in the country music game and he has been known to do country songs and that have a hip-pop feel to them.

Lyrics

One of the reasons this song is so good and such a hit is the lyrics. The lyrics to this song are just so easy to relate to and just about anyone can find a part that hits them in their feelings. The song talks about how it is okay that sometimes life just doesn't word out and it's okay to feel like it's to much. The song talks about how it could be better for them to be alone instead of the person they are with and sometimes that's true and sometimes people have a hard time letting go of someone for many reasons. Part of the lyrics go

"Got too much going to be upset
I swear I'd rather be your friend
I said I'm gonna be right back
It hurts sometimes it be like that"

this part of the song speaks to me because I've had to learn to let people and stuff go because I just don't have the time to deal with an extra stuff.

Rhythm

The rhythm of the song is very up beat and stays that way through out the whole song. The song starts out with a guitar playing and then not long after snapping of someone fingers. The snapping fingers is easy for anyone to do along with the song and it makes you want to. It keeps with that until about a minute and half in and then you can start to hear some drum to help keep the beat up and the rhythm easy to follow.

Beat & Tempo

The beat and tempo of the song is very important because it help to keep up with the lyrics and over all feel and sound of the song. It is the kind of beat and tempo that makes you can to get up and start dancing or if you are in your car to make you want to move around but it makes sure you can't just sit still.

  1. I think you just gave me one of my new favorite songs! I love all of these artist on their own but I have never come across this song, until now. The beat is very upbeat. I agree, the beat helps you to follow along with the lyrics.
