    Background Pocahontas was released on June 23, 1995 and was the 33rd full length animated feature from Walt Disney. The movie was directed my Mike Gabriel and Erica Goldberg. Pocahontas was the first entire movie based of an adult female and of someone of color. This was also Disney's first film about a real person from history. Without Pocahontas there is a chance that there might not be an Elsa, Rapunzel, Merida, or Tiana because she was the turning point for Disney heroine for female characters. Pocahontas was made during the Disney Renaissance time period which was between 1989 to 1999. During this time Walt Disney Animation Studios returned to making more musical animated films that were mostly based on well known stores and turned in to a power house success at the domestic and foreign box offices.     Background The Lion King came out on June 24, 1994 and it was the 32nd animated film that Walt Disney made. The Lion King was the highest grossing animated of all time until the release of Finding Nemo which is a Disney/Pixar movie. But The Lion King is the highest grossing traditionally-animated film of all time in North America. According to a GQ article the Lion King is based off an African story about "Sundiata (pronounced Soon-jah-ta) was an influential ruler and the founder of West Africa’s largest empire, the Mali Empire" and "he was the son of the real-life Mufasa – King Naré Maghann Konaté.". Sundiata was the Kings second son from a second wife and he was crippled and couldn't walk. One day Sundiata decised that he wanted to walk and didn't want to made fun of anymore and so he walked. This showed people he was their true king and everyone started to believe that but before the King could give Sundiata the throne the King died. Sundiata and his

    Original Pentatonix group members from left to right Avi Kaplan, Kirstin Maldonado, Scott Hoying, Mitch Grass, Kevin Olusola   The group Pentatonix (PTX) is a cappella singing group that got their start in 2011 with NBC show The Sing Off .  Before the group got their start it was original just Scott, Mitch and Kirstin who all went to high school together in Arlington, Texas and called themselves "The Trio". When Scott was at SoCal and a part of singing group called SoCal Vocals it was suggested to find a beat boxer and vocal bassist to add to the trio because Scott was interested in competing on the show. A friend of Scott's introduced him to Avi and they found Kevin off of YouTube when he posted a video of himself beat boxing while playing the cello. The five of them deiced to audition for the show The Sing Off   which is a cappella singing competition and they got in.
